Voluntary Health Services (VHS) is a non-profit institution established in 1958 with the objective of serving the health needs of the community. The past four and half decades have seen it grow into a 400-bed hospital with technologically advanced facilities. The notable domains of expertise operative in its specialty centers are acute care, maternity cum family welfare, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and HIV/AIDS care. A board of philanthropists, eminent physicians and social workers, serving with voluntary interest, manages VHS. It has the distinct advantage of simultaneously treating the affected and also educating them to adopt preventive measures.
